Colo
80 Tons of Cooling (25-year-old Equipment)
The colo building consisted of approximately 120 tons of cooling. Liquid SEER application was focused on the A/C units (80 tons of cooling) serving data equipment, which were four (4) 20-ton Liebert units.
Prior to the Liquid SEER application, personnel reported that the indoor temperature was 90-93°F despite the installation of one (1) 3-ton and two (2) 1.5-ton portable cooling units to mitigate the heat issue. After installation of Liquid SEER, the need for portable cooling was eliminated and the 25-year-old HVAC equipment outperformed its original specifications. Liquid SEER was able to boost equipment capacity to handle the increased heat load produced by the Nokia and Ciena long-haul equipment (103°F air output while in operation) to deliver 69-71°F conditioned air to the space.
